The trick to keeping healthy is to incorporate your healthy habits required by your detox diet plan into your life. Wherever possible, remove an unhealthy routine and insert a healthy one in the empty space. There are some really small, basic changes you cam make which will get you back on the road to health.
The successful home detox begins with taking care of your sleep. You need sleep to keep your energy and your immune system in tip-top condition. Burning the candle at both ends is a mistake that many people make. If you make inroads into your sleep time, you are depriving yourself of energy. If you have not slept last night, you will not be performing at your best today.
Most people who have experience in health matters say that we should all be exercising three times a week for about half an hour each time. If you are not able to keep to a strict schedule, you can at least try and come close. If you cannot go to the gym because of your busy day, get some weights or an exercise bike.
Make the effort to walk. Walking is the most basic and the most accessible method of exercising. The trouble is many of us are in the habit of jumping into the car or onto the bus. Often driving your car is not the easiest option, just another habit. If you usually take the bus everywhere, you can either walk to your destination instead or just walk one or two stops down the road. If you are not in a position to walk instead of ride, then you will need to make a date with yourself to go for a walk.
If you are cooking your own meals, it is just as easy to cook double the quantity. Then pack what you do not need for today into a plastic container and freeze it to use in the future. So that you do not go too far into the future, get into the habit of putting a label on the container with today’s date on it. You could also prepare tomorrow’s lunch for the office tonight. Once you are in the kitchen preparing the evening meal, it will not be too much trouble to pack some fruit, snacks and a sandwich for the next day.
Keep a stock of healthy snacks. Nuts, dried fruit, cheese, yogurt, crackers and baby carrots are all items you can keep at hand for snacking. Having your healthy food on hand will help you to break the fast-food habit.
When you are choosing your foods and pantry items for your natural detox diet, go for the low-sugar options. Ice cream, bread, cakes and soft drinks all have low-calorie and low sugar alternatives. You can also keep a supply of fruit juice or green tea for the times you feel like a caffeine hit.
Water helps your digestion and your circulation. It also makes your skin look good. Dehydration is often the cause of people feeling low on energy during the day. You have probably noticed that many of the people around you are sipping from the ever-present water bottle throughout the day. You can join them.
