A very common resolution every New Year’s Eve is to drop some pounds in the next year. A lot of people struggle with weight loss because they don’t have a good plan or strategy.
When planning a weight loss diet, skip the weight loss bars and shakes. These actually have more calories than you think, and they don’t often suppress cravings for food. After consuming these, you will often still feel hungry. Also you may take in a lot of sugar which causes blood sugar to go up while making you not feel good.
Count your calories, daily. Cut out any fatty foods you can. Substitute fattening foods for things that have low calories and less fat.
Adding exercise is important to losing weight. It doesn’t take as much exercise as you think to maintain your weight. Many of us have difficulty working exercise into our days. You can get extra steps in by parking further away in any parking lot or taking the stairs vs always hopping on the elevator like everyone else. Just adding a short walking distance per day can add up to a substantial weight loss over time.
You can cut out calories and lose weight by eating only the whites of eggs rather than the whole egg. Although there are some healthy ingredients in egg yolks, they’re also loaded with cholesterol and fat, and that likely makes them a bad fit for your current diet. Egg whites are a great source of protein while on a diet.
One of the best ways to keep weight off is to avoid eating in the hours before bedtime. When you eat food at night, it will sit in your stomach and not burn off. Find alternatives to snacking at night by reading or doing another productive, enjoyable activity.
You can increase your fat burning potential by lowering your daily intake of caffeine. Research indicates that caffeine causes your body to burn its stores of fat more slowly.
Remember to have an exercise program if you’re trying to shed weight. Go to the gym if you can find the time and afford it. Other excellent exercise alternatives are Pilates, jogging, walking, or Zumba. If you have health issues, talk to a doctor before you start a program. Many exercises can be done at home or throughout the day and will help keep you healthy.
Instead of eating unhealthy mayonnaise go for mustard. A lot of condiments add fat and unnecessary calories. Use mustard on your next sandwich to reduce the calorie count. When you order food in a restaurant, be sure they leave off the mayo!
Eat whipped butter. Some people are not interested in reducing their consumption of butter or using a butter substitute. People who like butter just prefer the taste of the real thing. You don’t have to stop using butter to lose weight. Just used whipped butter instead. It contains fifty percent less calories.
